Sinopsis:
Seorang polisi bernama Eros (Ario Bayu) menyelidiki kasus kematian 5 laki-laki yang dibunuh oleh massa. Seorang jurnalis bernama Janus (Fachri Albar) juga meliput insiden itu untuk korannya. Negeri tak bernama itu sedang dibayangi kekacauan: kekerasan, bencana alam, ketidakadilan. Sebagian masyarakat semakin lama semakin ganas. Sebagian lagi menunggu seseorang yang disebut-sebut sebagai "Ratu Adil", pemimpin yang akan membawa negeri mereka keluar dari bencana. Tanpa mereka sadari, Eros dan Janus terjebak dalam sebuah labirin penuh misteri dan bahaya. Janus tak sengaja menjadi satu-satunya orang yang mengetahui sebuah rahasia penting. Setiap kali dia menceritakan rahasia itu kepada orang lain, orang itu mati dengan mengerikan. Saat Eros juga mengetahui rahasia itu, Janus dan Eros tahu bahwa salah satu dari mereka harus mati. Kecuali jika mereka berhasil menemukan Ratu Adil sebelum malaikat pencabut nyawa datang.
A nameless country is in a state of chaos as natural disasters, corruption, and street justice rise. Part of the people grow more violent, the other part hope for the arrival of a promised leader. A cop named Eros is investigating the case of five men who were burnt to death by mob after somebody screamed "thief" at them. A journalist named Janus is also covering the story. The two are quickly drawn into a labyrinth of mysteries and murders. Janus accidentally discovers a secret. But everyone he tells the secret to soon finds a terrible death. When Eros also finds out of it, they both know that one of them has to die, unless they can find the promised leader before the angel of death arrives.

The buzzing cars so far away
When the moon was nearly empty

Janus sedang mengalami hari terburuk dalam hidupnya. Atasannya memecatnya sebagai jurnalis dan istrinya menceraikannya untuk alasan yang sama: narkolepsi, sebuah gangguan otak yang membuat Janus jatuh tertidur jika mengalami keadaan emosional yang tiba-tiba termasuk cemas, sakit, dan terkejut. Tapi hari itu Janus akan memulai petualangan terbesar dalam hidupnya, saat subjek beritanya yang terakhir menyeretnya masuk ke dalam sebuah labirin konspirasi tingkat tinggi penuh misteri dan bahaya. Janus segera menyadari bahwa yang selama ini dia anggap sebagai gangguan otak semata, mungkin merupakan sinyal dari sesuatu yang sangat besar di luar daya nalar manusia, yang membuatnya dikejar-kejar beberapa tokoh yang sangat powerful dan berbahaya.

Janus, Sari, dan Bandi

Adalah seorang jurnalis bernama Janus yang mencintai seorang perempuan bernama Sari. Bahagia keduanya, saat mereka menikah di hari terdamai di negeri itu. Tapi bersamaan dengan datangnya rentetan bencana, meluntur juga cinta Sari. Dua tahun setelah bersama, Sari memutuskan untuk meninggalkan Janus dan kenangan cinta mereka.
